An exciting announcement was made during the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show; Triton has collaborated with Espen Øino International and Dark Ocean DeepSea for its latest acrylic submersible, Project Hercules. Photo: Dark Ocean DesignProject Hercules is an evolution of Dark Ocean’s patent-pending elliptical nine-person AVA pressure hull, which overthrew the traditional bulbous pod often seen on submersibles for a more ergonomically sound and spacious design that doesn’t impede views or impact the experience of underwater excursions. The elliptical hull can still withstand depths up to 200 metres, and Project Hercules is expected to be able to travel at 8 knots, twice that of traditional submersibles, allowing guests to glide amongst schools of fish and larger marine life.
