The Dutch-based shipyard Royal Huisman has unveiled their 100m sailing yacht concept Wing 100. The innovative yacht focuses on sustainability and is a collaborative effort from some of the biggest names in the industry.Wing 100 is a true sailing yacht and features exterior design and naval architecture by Dykstra Naval Architects with interior design by Mark Whiteley Design. The ground-breaking concept is constructed from aluminium, and unlike heavy sail assisted motor yachts, she can easily and quickly be deployed.The Wing 100 yacht has been conceived to appeal to not only sailing yacht owners but motor yacht owners who are looking to minimise their environmental footprint. The Royal Huisman- designed superyacht will also retain the highest standards of amenity and comfort as a motor yacht.
“Sustainability is crucially important for all of us and for future generations. Yacht owners and the yachting industry obviously want to contribute by reducing environmental impact and by limiting the use of valuable natural resources. It is a fact that the level of achievement resulting from these efforts can vary greatly,” said Royal Huisman CEO Jan Timmerman.
