Cantiere Rossini and reift in the Adriatic

When it comes to superyacht refit in the Mediterranean, or superyacht construction for that matter, the Italian industry dominates the market. But as we have recently heard during the inaugural Marche Yachting Association meeting, one part of Italy that is often overlooked is the eastern coastline. This, however, is a mistake particularly according to Alfonso Postorino, Shipyard Director of Cantiere Rossini in Pesaro. Not only does the Adriatic coastline enjoy swift access to Croatia and the beautiful Dalmatian Coast, but it is also a hub of yachting activity, with Ancona providing a major resources base for a large smattering of shipyards. We caught up with Postorino during the Cannes Yachting Festival to find out more about both the region and the rapidly expanding offering of Cantiere Rossini itself.
“Every year more yachts arrive in the region and not just for refit or maintenance work. Croatia and the Dalmatian Coast has become extremely popular and a number of major companies are investing in the region. For example there has recently been news of Lürssen investing in Rijeka, as well as the new expansion of the Adriatic 42 refit facility in Montenegro which is complimenting the excellent marinas already in place there.” While this may sound like potential competition for Cantiere Rossini,…
