Durrës Yachts & Marina could be the largest superyacht marina in the Mediterranean, and it’ll be built in the Albanian city of Durrës. Durrës Yachts & Marina is set to redefine luxury lifestyle, while accommodating some of the largest yachts in the global fleet.Abu Dhabi-based private real estate investment and development company and property developer, Eagle Hills, is behind the project. The $2.5 billion deal will see a complete transformation to the region. Chairman of the company, Mohamed Alabbar, said “This development is the pinnacle of luxury living, whilst at the same time bringing immense new investment, infrastructure and long-term growth opportunities to Albania.”

As well as the large marina, the development is set to include 12,000 luxury marina homes, premium retail experiences, unique shopping and dining concepts, parks and open spaces, opulent luxury hotels, world-class wellness clubs and spas, exclusive beach and marina clubs, and a terminal for international cruise liners, the first of its kind on the Albanian coast.The city of Durrës is situated 34 kilometres from the Albanian capital Tirana, and is thought to be the oldest city in the world, dating back to 627BC.
