Sanlorenzo has launched the first unit from its 56.5-metre 57 Steel series, from its facility in La Spezia, Italy. The launch of the 57 Steel series marks a major milestone for the Italian yacht builder, as she’s not only the first unit from a new metal series of superyachts, but one that redefines the traditional general arrangement. Rather than situating the wheelhouse forward of the upper deck, the 57 Steel’s is located on the bridge deck – typical for larger yachts.

Spanning five decks and boasting 1050 GT, the 57 Steel is the largest superyacht designed by Zuccon International Project. “The 57 Steel is an ambitious project behind which there has been an intense amount of typological research, a very important study which has always been at the basis of the research that Zuccon International Project has been conducting with passion since the beginning of its collaboration with Sanlorenzo,” Bernado Zuccon of Zuccon International Project explained. “The aim was to create a craft of around 1050 GT with functional and lifestyle contents that are normally found on boats of larger sizes,” Zuccon continued. “From a design point of view, the most important challenge was to find the right balance between the volumes and proportions of the boat.
